Route- Thanchi- Tindu- Boro Pathor- Ramakri/Yangrai- Choto Mowdok/ Choto Modhu- BoroMowdok/ Boro Modhu
Additional information:
You need permission from BDR to use this route. Normally permission upto Tindu and Boro Pathhor is easy to get. getting permission for Mowdok is a bit hard in times. After Boro Mowdok the Sangu Reserve Forest or Andhar Manik Reserve Forest is situated.
How to go:
Dhaka to Bandarban: by Bus
Bandarban to Thanchi: by Bus or Chandergari
Thanchi to Boro Mowdok: By boat or canoe.
In one boat 4 to 5 person can sit comfortably with their Backpack (without any bag 9 can sit easily). Food and snacks for the boatman is on you.
Where to stay:
You can stay in your tents or use the below places:
1. Thanchi: Thana rest house
2. Tindu: In the Hotel/Resturant/ Tribal’s home upstair.
3. Ramakri: Resthouse/Tribal’s Home
4. Boro Mowdok: In local places in the Bazar.
What to eat (food):
It is advisable to take your ingredients with you and cook yourself. You can go to any of the Bazar and buy food there but is of unknown quality and taste. You can drink the river water.
Tips/advise for traveler:
1. Take your sleeping bag with you.
2. Take plenty of tea/coffee and biscuits.
3. Write down the detail in a paper and submit to BDR camp:
Name, Father’s Name, permanent address, mobile number, home telephone number,
4. Pack everything in a poly bag before packing your backpack.
5. Have electrical torch light.
6. Can take precaution for Malaria.
